Randomness

I got this in my inbox the other day and wondered if maybe Amazon knows something I don’t:

You know it’s bad when even Amazon is telling you to get the heck outta dodge. Even scarier, the next email from Amazon said this:

I can only assume it’s a zombie apocalypse and that they are hoping to prepare me so that I can survive and continue to purchase from them.

Or is it a thinly veiled threat? You decide!

Hee-hee.

That makes me think of those old action figure commercials from the 80’s – Let me see if I can find one…

Anyway, moving on, I am officially back from my… vacation, if you want to call it that. Long story, but I will shorten it simply by saying I got no work done but I did take more pictures of snow, grass, frozen creeks, etc etc than any sane person needs. I might get them edited and uploaded by July.

One thing the trip did demonstrate was my need for a new phone, so I finally gave up and upgraded to a Bionic. That means I can now access my email (I know, I know!) on it, which I couldn’t do before because I actually have a google app account and it did’;t gel with the android I – there was a work around hubby had for awhile, but then that stopped working after a software upgrade. The Bionic is also leagues faster (no more 45 minutes trying to upload a photo to facebook) and it can actually run apps without lagging and/or freezing (wow!) So right now I am singing it’s praises. Give me a year and we’ll see what happens 😉

So, since it has new apps, I’ve been playing with them:

Exciting, huh?

Not much else. I’m depressed for a myriad of reasons which are long and boring and sadly it will only get worse before it gets better, but it should taper off mid March or so. Just a matter of moving along until then. I don’t believe in wallowing, but sometimes one must simply BE depressed over various things. The trouble comes when said depressions effect your day to day activities, and since I’m not there yet all is good.

Speaking of day to day activities I have to catch up on book covers and such and then it is back to the book. I have gotten notes back from two of the three betas, so I need to read through all of those. I did a quick look through of them and they both have very helpful suggestions, and I am sure beta number three will as well (see my post – http://joleenenaylor.wordpress.com/2012/02/27/the-worlds-best-beta-readers/ ). The book still has no title. I know that this is supposed to be random space and most book yabber is supposed to be confined to the other blog, but I figure people can skim this if they want.

Anyway, titles I am playing with are:

  • Sins of the Father
  • Casualties of War
  • Web of Darkness
  • Web of Illusion
  • Web of Lies
  • Web of Deceit
  • I also had Darkness of the Heart suggested but as I *think* book 5 will be titled Heart of the Raven two “hearts” may be confusing.

Maybe I should have a contest for it? That’s a sneaky way of drumming up blog views AND getting a title when you can’t think of one 😉

Speaking fo contests, I am going to do some give aways when I release the fourth book. I’m not giving away copies of the book because it always ends up a mess for one reason or another. Instead I am giving away paraphernalia. The plan is some book marker sets (i bought the sleeves and tassels for these) T-shirt transfers (Verchiel has some awesome t-shirts in this book including sayings like “Bloodsuker” – I thought transfers rather than shirts because then people can put them on any size/colored shirt they want) some vinyl stickers that have the warning labels from the MI institute on them, some collector cards of the Executioners (i have a couple done-ish at the moment) and then two cross necklaces (aka Velnya’s cross – though I could not find one that was exactly what I wanted).  I also bought some craft metal tubing and the brother and I are trying to figure out how to make Executioner necklaces, but I’m not holing my breath on those. I’m not sure whether to do the giveaway as a two week thing with prizes every day, or drag it out to a month with prizes every day. Maybe two weeks is better?

I also have some things to say about the new Smashwords TOS regarding Erotica – though really we should all call it the paypal TOS – but I will limit that one to the author blog.

And with that I’m outta here.  I have to do some sketching for four different covers and then I need to get a sci-fi romance one I am in the middle of finished tonight as well.

Uh oh…I feel a challenge coming on. I’ll curl up under my thinking blanket, and see if I can add any other choices to your list. I love to do that to people. Choices are a good thing!
