Day 19 in Villisca
We won’t with the intention of getting a lot done. The brother was ill most of the morning but by lunch he felt better so we decided to splurge the last of our pennies and bought a chicken dinner from the grocery store.
It was good and only $3.99. Then we got to work, he priming the bathroom walls to skim coat and me tackling that laundry room closet.
And then Dad came for a Sunday visit and kidnapped us. A person can’t tell their dad no after he’s driven 45 minutes, so we headed off into the wild blue.
We hit Walmart in Shen because Dad loves Walmart.
Had dinner at Mondo’s, then came home.
Dad had to scuttle off because he doesn’t see well once it gets dark, and he left so fast we forgot to pawn our laundry off on him – he is going to the laundromat tomorrow – Lol! Seriously though, the bath towels could use a real wash. As it is now we do laundry in the bathtub and line dry it and though that’s working fine for my work tank tops and scrub pants, the heavy towels need something a little extra.
Anyway, I got the shelves removed, closet cleaned and a first coat of paint on it.
Though of interest while I was cleaning it I found some random things like a hat, a couple bottles of flea spray and these:
Just think about the poor, poor mice who may have suffered on these. Boo. Hiss. Boo. Speaking of mice we have one upstairs so have put out a live trap for him. He’s cute but can’t have him chewing our wiring.
Also a bizarre thing is the new mop. I finally opened it to clean the closet floor, used it once and this happened:
Luckily I bought an extra but what the heck?
Tomorrow is going to be even less productive on my end because I have to work on book covers. I’ll try to think of something fun to post though.
And with that I am cutting this off because it’s Midnight. We already started up until after two am last night thanks to the creepy noises in the kitchen, which I am pretty sure turned out to be the air-conditioning cooling the floor tiles and such because it stopped when we shut the air off at two and it started again in the daytime when we turned the air on, so mass hysteria for nothing Lol! Things like that are why I hate sleeping at night. Better to be busy and then have that lay-awake-and-think time while the sun is up and the ghosties can’t get you.
Have a good one!
