Thankfulness #122: Coffee

Yesterday (I think it was) my brother got my Ninja Coffee bar to stop blinking the clean light, so I felt the need to drink copious amounts of coffee today to test it out. It was all tasty, hot, and delicious. Also I used some snazzy sugar-free latte foam I picked up at wal-mart, so no sugar (I really need to kick the sugar in my coffee). It’s sucralose (or something like that) based, so maybe it won’t kill me as fast as aspartame. (No, I haven’t actually researched this). I need to learn to drink it black, but I think that is going to take some time. I have cut down on the sweetner/sugar, so plus there.
Dad brought a movie home tonight:
I’d give it 4.5 stars – it doesn’t get 5 because it wasn’t as cheesy as I had hoped. It does get points for counting bullets/ammo – they ran out of ammo multiple times when they were supposed to! Also because Miz actually *grabbed the guns* from the bad guys after he took them out instead of walking off and leaving them (That annoys the crap out of me) and because when chasing people in a dark parking garage, the bad guys used their brains and turned the lights on instead of running around in the dark like most movies! Oh, and they get props for giving the biker gang radios – that was intelligent. Most movies just have a bunch of disorganized bumbling bad guys, so it was nice to see some thought put into it. Of course, the final points go to Bo Dallas’ hair. It was looking especially fluffy and wavy. I’m afraid if he’d captured me I’d have smiled and said “Anything you want, sweety”. But then I have a thing for those Rotunda boys… (Yeah, Bray Wyatt too… though that beard could use some trimming… snip, snip.)
While I’m on TV, Dad and I are on season five of Hell on Wheels, the last season I believe. I think we’re getting close to running out of episodes. I have lots of varying opinions on things. I will say they do a good job of not making anyone 100% likable or 100% unlikable – except Swede. I hope he dies soon. But they get points for realistic layered characters.
In other news, I got Turtles done today – yay – and the new page is posted at TerribleTurtles.com . I also got some teaser tags made for Goddess of Night, which releases on Sunday. No, I am not doing much on the release day. It’s WWE Payback, y’all. Did you not see where I mentioned Bray? He’ll be wrestling in a House of Horrors match.
Gotta have priorities.
Maybe later in the week. I’d have to try to throw something together and set up an event… I dunno. I might ask Book Born about it…We’ll see. Maybe I’ll crash Terrible Turtle Tuesday… how weird would that be since I an half of Terrible Turtle Tuesday? Ha ha! (I’m probably not going to do that, FYI).
Tomorrow is grocery shopping day (if hubby is feeling better – he’s sick tonight) and hopefully I’ll get the front matter updated in all the books and reupload everything. That’s always fun to do.
And now I leave you with a weird coincidence. I’ve been listening to 30 Seconds to Mars all say on YouTube – so they randomly drop in “Mr. Brightside” by the Killers, just as I get to this page in a clickbait article:
The chorus was literally playing as I read it. OOoooOOOoooOOOooooOOooooOOOoo.
Have a Bo Dallas with good hair kinda day!

Thankfulness #63: Terrible Turtle Hoodie

Today my Terrible Turtle Hoodie arrived! (Excuse the photo, it’s a screen cap from a live video I did on FB, and I am making a weird face because 1- I am talking and 2 – I make a lot of weird faces):
Sadly, unless we set up on Zazzle (which we might) these sweatshirts will never be available again. I have an account at Cafe Press, but it is so confusing trying to figure it out that I mat ditch it. They have videos to help you, except none of my Cafe Press dashboards look anything like the videos, so…I dunno.
In other news I got my outline mostly done. There are some holes I need to figure out. But that will be easy enough by simply saying, “Okay, what is this character’s motivation? What would they do next?” and keep going through each one until I hit one that moves things forward. Though I normally am anti-outlining, it had helped on this one because there’s so much to wrap up in a short time. I usually do the same sort of critical thinking on it and rearrange events, but usually it comes after it’s written. I’m running out of time, so I am going to just do it.
Tomorrow, or in the next few days, I am going to have to figure out what to do about the Anthology we were working on of Old Man Wickleberry stories. There’s been a… roadblock, or a potential roadblock, and I have been hesitant to bring it up to people. I don’t want to get into it, and I’m sure no one reading this cares. Anyway, I need to put on my big girl pants and handle it.
And that’s all from me. Have TTC hoodie kinda day!
Jo 🙂
Thankfulness #60

Today I am thankful for FINALLY getting the TTC page done for this week (two days late). I won’t go into the breakdown of trouble I had in it, because it involves a “jaw dropping” amount of the f-word, but I think it’s because we had the characters form the cursed chapter eight in it. Whenever they appear, curses start!
Want to know what the heck is going on? Check out the Terrible Turtles site and find out!!
Have a conquering the curse kinda day!

There Be Turtles

Jonathan and I are selling autographed prints of the Terrible Turtle Conspiracy comic (20$ includes S&H). We’re taking the first round to the Book Born retreat in Michigan on Monday, where we’ll autograph them.
As for the retreat, I guess I haven’t mentioned it before. Book Born is an awesome facebook readers and authors group. Back in June (just when we started saving to paint our house, ha ha!) Christine came up with the awesome idea of renting a lodge on one of the Great Lakes and getting together for three days.
Fastforward to now, and we leave Monday morning. We’ll drive all day, get a motel, then finish the trip Tuesday and arrive to meet everyone – including the aforementioned Jonathan who I have collaborated on a million things with over the years. The funny thing is, people think we’re related, but we’ve never even met in real life. So, this will be a first, that we are celebrating with a live Terrible Turtles Broadcast on Tuesday. Readers can PM their questions on facebook and I’ll throw them at Jonathan during our live appearance. It is going to be fun.
Past that there are a lot of plans. There’s a dark space park an hour away that looks cool, there’s a lighthouse, there are foreign pokemon I need to catch, there’s talk of a bonfire, we might watch a movie, there may be some book discussion, we’re going to head into the nearest town for lunch on Wednesday…My only plan is the TTC video, some pokemon, and at some point I am hitting up that lighthouse with a camera.
The retreat ends Wednesday, but we’re hoping not to be home until Sunday. It’s going to depend on how much money we have left, but if there is enough we thought about going to New York for one night, and then heading home through Ohio (I think there may be the tiniest corner of Pennsylvania, too), just to say we’ve been to those states. Bust, as I said, it depends on whether we can eat and sleep cheap. And since there’s three of us…
In other news, Brothers of Darkness is formatted and uploaded. I may run through it again real quick and check something I forgot about (a formatting issue), and I need to finish the paperback version. That’s on the list for tomorrow; that and digging up stuff to pack, since I need to go to bed super early Sunday.
And speaking of bed, I should head there now.
Have an autographed comic kind of day!
Jo 🙂

A Merry Vampire Christmas from TTTC! – Blogophilia 43.4

It’s time for Blogophilia again, that fun blog game where participants use prompts in a weekly post. Check out the other participants!
This week’s prompts are:
- Blogophilia 43.4 Topic: “Shopping at WalMart”
- Bonus Points:
- (Hard, 2pts): quote a line from a Beatles song
- (Easy, 1pt): mention ‘address book and holiday shopping idea’
Last week I started back on my Vampire Morsels stories, and had planned to do Kariss this week, but I’m not going to have time. I’ve been too busy shopping at Walmart, or not. This year we got people expensive gifts because my husband went insane, so it was all over Springfiled – and what a mess! People running round it’s 5 o’clock , everywhere in town is getting dark, everyone you see is full of life, looking for holiday shopping ideas! I still need to get my Christmas cards finished (late, huh?) and dig up all the addresses. I do have an address book, but it’s outdated and falling apart. I need a new one.
and now that the pesky prompts are out of the way, here is this year’s Terrible Turtle Conspiracy Christmas Special. If you don’t know, you can read – and subscribe – to the weekly webcomic at http://terribleturtles.com . You can also see previous Christmas Specials.
